From Classroom to Performance

“Active English” Drama Animateur Scheme introduces students to the whole gamut of reading, analysing and adaptation of classic English plays. The journey begins from the basic elements of drama, blocking to body movement, and reaches toward forming a concept to practice in a public performance venue. The scheme aims to nurture interest and appreciation of drama from an early age through active, regular participation by students and most importantly to motivate their active learning and speaking of English, so as to enhance students’ expression, communication skills, problem solving, critical thinking and team spirit.

We understand that most Hong Kong students lack interest in approaching the English language not because they are not capable of learning the language, but mainly because they find learning it uninteresting. And hence, in the coming year, The Seals Players Foundation Co intends to demonstrate how learning English can be fun and enjoyable.

September 2013 Seals Players tutors will be going into every participating school in early September to introduce the scheme and to explain what the company will offer throughout the year. Students will have the chance to participate in various English drama games during the Introductory Session so that they could experience before they sign up for the programme.
